John “Jack” William Avery, age 70, of Troy, died Friday February 12, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 25, 1945 to Donald and Ruth (Knowlton) Avery. He graduated from Troy High School in 1963 and Williamsport Technical Institute in 1965. He married Bonnie (Young) Avery on July 16, 1965.
They had three daughters, Jean (Bill) Vickery, Crystal (Rick) Gilliland, and Niki Weed; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Jack worked in commercial and residential construction from 1965 to semi-retirement in 2007. He enjoyed creating wood pieces with his scroll saw, camping, trips down Pine Creek, traveling, and gardening.
Jack is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two sisters, Linda (Steve) Prior and Gail (William) Hunter; brother-in-law, Doug (JaNell) Young, and mother-in-law, Shirley Young.
