John “Jack” S. Bruno, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2015 at his home in Okeechobee, FL.
Formerly of Ralston, Jack was born on December 15, 1930, the son of the late John S. Sr. and Elizabeth (Kump) Bruno.
After graduating from Ralston High School, Jack enlisted in the US Navy until 1952.
On December 24, 1950, Jack married the former Mary Botsford and together they shared 59 years of marriage.
After Jack’s retirement from Textron (Avco) in 1995, he and Mary relocated to Okeechobee.

Jack enjoyed sharing stories with all; however, Jack’s biggest joy in life was spending time with family.
Surviving are daughters, Elaine (Richard) Palmer; Jaki Parshall; Sue Bruno; Teresa (John) Schlappi; Dee (Larry) Route and Chris Hurd, grandchildren, John and Daric Palmer; Lance and Brandon Ridall; Talia Roupp and Tyrell Wheeler; Shana Bailey, Cass Pierce and Zackry Schlappi; Jessica Wilcox; Josh and Cara Hurd. Also 12 great-grandchildren (soon to be 14).
Jack was predeceased by his wife Mary; daughter, Janet (Kenny) Haines and sister, Mary Ann Deljanovan.
Mass will be held in Jack’s honor at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Ralston. Interment will follow at Ellenton Cemetery.
