He leaves two step-children, Judy Lohman and John Ford and their children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert “Doc” Ellis (Marilyn); his nieces and nephews and their families.
He graduated from Canton High School, photography school, and (then) Williamsport Tech. He was a photographer, the sailor of a boat he built himself, chief engineer at WLYC for thirty years.
He loved music and played the clarinet. He was a self-taught drummer who played in local bands, including the McNett brothers. All this with acute visual problems. He was known for his humorous ways with words and friendliness. He will be missed.
