Jack was born June 1, 1952 in Sayre, a son of the late Donald and Helen (Driscoll) Carman. On Aug. 24, 1984 he married the former Karen McPherson who survives.
He was a 1969 graduate of Troy High School.
After more than 20 years of service, Mr. Carman retired from Kohl Building Products, Selinsgrove, as the operations manager. Jack was a great Syracuse basketball fan and was an avid fisherman. He was a wonderful person who enjoyed helping others whenever possible and had a great love for animals. Jack's greatest love was for his family; he especially enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Earlier in life he coached basketball, football and baseball for his son's teams.
He is survived by two daughters, Jill M. Deitrick of Troy, Andrea M. Carman of Northumberland; one son and daughter-in-law, Ry J. and Courtney L. Carman of Northumberland; four grandchildren, Anthony, Jakob, Madison and MaeLeigh Deitrick; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Donna Carman of Towanda, Ronald and Donna Carman of Canton; and one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Wes Hodge of Rome.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Carman.
A memorial service will be held at 6 pm, Wednesday, at the Albright Center, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Sunbury, with Rev. Mark Gittens officiating.
