Born November 1st, 1959 in Sayre, he was the son of the late Arlie Howard Winebarger and the late Hazel Gertrude (Ray) Winebarger.
In his youth Jerry displayed a knack for tinkering with machines. Throughout his adult life he worked as a mechanic repairing small engines. He also enjoyed working on cars.
Jerry was always his own person and seemed to march to the beat of a different drum.
He put forth an image of being “cool,” from the way he dressed to the way he carried himself. But while his outside appearance seemed a little rough around the edges at times, there was a warm, caring Jerry inside who, in his own way, was devoted to his family and friends.
He enjoyed family gatherings and was especially fond of his sisters’ cooking. He was also quick to organize a party for friends if the situation warranted it. Most importantly, Jerry found Jesus.
He attended the Victory Church in Troy where he found a spiritual home and a Christian family to uplift him during life’s trials.
Preceded in death by parents Arlie Howard and Hazel Gertrude (Ray) Winebarger, siblings Shirley Irene Castle, Lena May Swain, William Frank Winebarger and James Allen “Jimmy” Winebarger.
