Born September 4, 1921 in Alba, Jennie Elizabeth was the only child of the late Sarah Phillips. She was a graduate of Canton High School’s class of 1941.
On May 22, 1943, Jennie married Gerald M. Ameigh at her mother’s home in Alba. They shared 55 years together before his passing on Dec. 1, 1998.
Family came first in Jennie’s life. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Alba Borough Election Board, Troy’s Croman Elementary School, and Troy Community Hospital’s and Bradford County Manor's Gift Shops. She was a member of Bradford County Manor’s Peer Group, enjoyed their Bible Study Club and stick weaving classes, reading and word-search books.
Faith in the Lord was a great strength to Jennie; she read her Bible faithfully. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy for many years and also attended Alba’s First Christian Church and Troy’s Victory Church.
In addition to her husband Gerald, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Lloyd Barrett.
Rev. Garry Zuber will officiate a memorial service to honor a beautiful life at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, at the First Baptist Church, 579 Canton St. in Troy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Canton’s Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial in Jennie’s name to Bradford County Manor Activity Fund, 15900 RT 6 Troy, PA 16947.
