Jane Ellen Skelly Callahan, of Crofton, Md., died peacefully at home on Dec. 29, 2017.
She was born on April 1, 1921, in Ralston, the daughter of Thomas F. and Alma Breen Skelly.
Mrs. Callahan was a graduate of Ralston High School and then received a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Pennsylvania State University, where she was a member of Theta Phi Alpha women’s fraternity. She later served on the Penn State Alumni Council. She was a retired teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert J. Callahan,who died in 1998; a sister, Ann M. Skelly; and a daughter-in-law, Debra J. Callahan.

Surviving are four sons, Thomas R. Callahan (Mary Kay), Crofton, Maryland, James M. Callahan, Swan Point, Maryland, Patrick J. Callahan (Stacy), Davidsonville, Maryland and Michael R. Callahan (Laurie), Crofton, Maryland; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church of Crofton, where a Funeral Mass will be held on Jan. 6, 2018.
Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport.
