James was employed with GTE on 2nd shift as a Tungsten Supervisor for 28 years. He also owned and operated a beef, dairy, and hog farm on Mountain Lake, Bradford County, Pa. He married the former Anna Laura Roman in 1959. He took great interest in studying and sharing God's word. He took great pleasure in helping with Hunts for Healing, attending Pow-Wow Festivals, and natural healing. James enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, baseball, and was an avid history buff. In later years he used his interest to share his love for Jesus. He was a very personable man, loving and generous. He was a father figure to many people he met. One of his greatest loves was his grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Anna Laura Roman Patton, who passed away Oct. 25, 2003; daughter, Bonnie Lynn Patton; and brother, Richard Patton.
A memorial service for James will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 from the Calvary Chapel, SR 6, Wyalusing, with Pastor John McAndrew of the church and Pastor Timothy Barnett of New Hope Ministries officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted with Sheldon Funeral Homes, 155 Church St., Wyalusing.
