Hope Beatrice Jenkins Amedeo

6/3/2016

Picture
Hope Beatrice Jenkins Amedeo, 50,Steubenville, Ohio passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving husband, Frank on Friday, June 3, 2016.
She was the daughter of the late, Arthur and Carol Kipp born on March 18, 1966. Hope was a 1985 graduate of Canton Area Junior-Senior High School.  She fought a short, but treacherous battle against small cell cervical cancer. Her strong-willed and determined attitude never wavered and was inspiring to all around her.
Hope's greatest love was her family and friends. She loved having big family dinners and playing games. You could always find her laughing at a great inside joke or listening intently to a loved one's story. She was the kind of person that you could talk to and know that she truly cared about what you were saying and would try to help you in any way possible. One of her favorite past times was going on dinner and movie dates with her husband, Frank. She also loved preparing for vacations by shopping and getting pedicures. Traveling was important to her. She loved going to the beach, relaxing poolside and soaking up the sun. Her favorite vacation spot being Cancun, Mexico where she had travelled to multiple times.
Hope was always a leader in every sense of the word. She served as a Girl Scout leader when her niece wanted to join, but there wasn't a leader to do so. She was very passionate about all the young women she worked with and helped. She loved them as her own and went above and beyond for all of their needs. She later became the local Service Unit Manager for all of the Girl Scout troops in the area. Continuing with her love for children, Hope taught pre-school for several years while living in Ocala, Florida.

Hope dedicated many years leading customer service teams for AT&T Wireless. She continued her career of service by working for PHEAA in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She most recently was responsible for opening and building a service team for the newest PHEAA office in Pittsburgh. She helped train and prepare her employees to serve their customers to the best of their abilities. She was very loved and respected by her colleagues. She was diligent and hardworking rarely missing any work. Upon hearing of her diagnosis, her employees lovingly dedicated their staff break room, Hope Amedeo's Employee Lounge for Hope's Heroes, in her honor.
Hope was predeceased by her grandparents, Evan and Lula B. Jenkins; Mother and Father, Arthur and Carol J. Kipp; Father-in- law, Frank M. Amedeo, Sr.; and niece, Olivia Spencer.
She leaves behind her husband, Frank M. Amedeo, Jr.; Mother-in-law JoAnn (John) Kenney; Sister, Faye (Robert) Spencer; brother, Ivan (Karen) Finogle; sister-in-law, Trish (Donnie) Price; Mother-in-Law, Barbie Amedeo; nieces, Carolann Spencer, Rebecca Spencer, Krista Spencer, Gabrielle Spencer, Sierra Finogle, Dominica Price, and Darias Price; nephews, Brent Spencer, Jake Finogle, and Dakota Price; great nephews, Brayden and Jackson Spencer; and her furbabies, Baby, Ciccio, and Beatrice.
At Hope's request there will be no formal services.
Her family will memorialize her privately as she wanted. The family wishes to thank all of the amazing caregivers who showed Hope such kindness and went above and beyond to make her feel at home during her extended hospital visits.
There aren't enough words to express our gratitude for your love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please direct any donations in her honor to Magee-Womens Foundation- 5800th Unit 3339 Ward Street Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
The Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester is assisting with these arrangements.
