She was born July 24, 1933 in Austinville, a daughter of David and Hazel (Hulslander) Sherman.
Helen worked at Paper Magic in Troy. She attended Bakerburg Community Church. She loved trains, lighthouses, and covered bridges.
Surviving are a son, Lloyd Dunbar of Florida; step-sons, Marshall Carnright of Georgia and Richard Carnright, Sr., Gobbler's Knob, N.C.; a step-daughter Alice Thompson; a brother and sister-in-law Robert and Doris Sherman, Troy, P several grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn, and a brother, William.
