
Harley George was born February 7, 1928 in Hillsgrove, PA, the only son of the late Beatrice (Bagley) and Harley Edkin Sharrow. He was proud to have served our country as a Navy Seaman First Class during WWII and was a member of the Canton V.F.W. Post 714.
Harley owned and operated the Sharrow General Construction Company along with his son Terry. He was well-known throughout the area for his abilities in the masonry and carpentry trades. In earlier years, Harley enjoyed farming. He also worked for Ingersoll-Rand Corp. in Athens, PA.
Harley had many interests in his life; he especially loved square dancing, camping with his family, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He tended large vegetable gardens and had several animals and pets over the years including a favorite donkey, Poncho.
Surviving are daughter, Gail Ann Williams, Troy; daughter-in-law, Annette (Davis) Sharrow, Canton; grandsons, Joseph Sharrow, Granville Summit and Justin Sharrow, Canton; great grandchildren, Witten and Addalynn Sharrow.
Calling hours are 3 – 4 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Pepper Funeral Home, 578 Springbrook Dr., Canton. Rev. Jasper Smith will officiate the funeral service at 4 p.m. A private burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Shunk.
