Grace A. (Washburn) Erle, 96, Big Pond, passed away, September 3, 2015 at the Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Athens.
She was the loving wife of the late Willis L. Erle who passed away on June 21, 1985. The couple married September 21, 1935 and had 50 happy years together.
Grace was born on May 23, 1919 in Nichols, NY, daughter of the late Gilbert R. and Orpha (Spencer) Washburn. Grace was a long time member of the Big Pond United Methodist Church, was the church Sexton, and was a member of the Springfield Rebekah’s Lodge. Grace was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Surviving are daughters: Beverly A. Watts, West Burlington, PA, Mary Ellen (Don) Goodwin, Big Pond, and Kay E. (Don) Spencer, Towanda' grandchildren: John F. Fives, Rex E. (Charissa) Fives, Brenda (Kevin) Leonard, Donald L. Ennis, Thomas H. Butters, Jr., Darlene J. (Gerald) Jayne, Theresa K. Moore, Kenneth (Venus) Watts, Kevin (Julie) Watts, Kimberly (Bill) Chapin, Keisha (Brian) Lent, Jarrail D. Goodwin; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews, and her care givers: Bonnie Simons and Paula Mallory.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willis, her son William E. Erle, her granddaughter Lesa D. Fives-Williams, her two great grandsons: Chad Rhinbold and Dylan Chapin, her son-in-law Kenneth Watts, her two brothers: Walter and Leon Washburn, and her sisters: Dorothy Campbell, Hazel Collins, and Marion Dodge.
The funeral service to celebrate Grace’s life was held on September 8, at the Big Pond United Methodist Church, with her pastor, Rev. Joshua Davinsizer officiating. Burial followed in Bradford County Memorial Park.
Pall bearers were Grace’s grandsons.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. Troy, PA.
