Gloria was born on July 12, 1933 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Vernon Halsey and Louise Ann Patricia (Driscoll) Garrison Drake.
She worked several places including A&P, Remington Rand, and Sayre Lingerie. Gloria was also co-owner with her husband Wellman in Brown’s Attic Antique Store as well as owner of Crafts by Gloria.
She also cooked, baked, and decorated cakes professionally. Gloria was a 20 year member of the Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church where she also taught Sunday School, was a member of the American Legion, the East Smithfield Garden Club, and the East Smithfield Fire Co. and Ambulance Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler for many years, loved watching birds and feeding them, was an avid crocheter, making anything from table cloths to doilies to baby blankets, sweaters and hats, to bed spreads every stitch with love, as well as hand-made quilts for her family.
Gloria is survived by children: Susan and Robert Strauss, Michael and Nancy Brown, Deborah and Mark Freeman, and James and Kimberly Brown, her grandchildren: Tim Brown, Tom and Pam Brown, Doug and Tara Freeman, Michelle Brown, Natalie and Kyle Miller, Christen and Michael Rice, Autumn and Ryan Osborne, and Aaron Brown, her great grandchildren: Justice, Jade, and Janae Brown, Connor, Riley and Elaineah Brown, Keegan Freeman, Faith May Freeman, Mackenzie, Kamden, and Elise Miller, Layne Brown-Swisher, Gabriel Osborne, Jackson Wellman Osborne, Theodore William Rice; brothers: Bert and Phyllis Garrison, Myrt and Sandy Garrison, Frank and Rose Marie Garrison, her sister Leda Kerr, brother-in-law Wendell Brown and sister-in-law Sue Brown, sisters-in-law: Shirley Brown, Norma Brown, Irene Gunshaw, and Naomi Dumais, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wellman, her infant brother James Garrison, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Juanita and Boyd, Willard and Jean, Warren, Charlotte and Stan, Louise, Walter and Janice, and Wayne and her brothers-in-law, Mike Gunshaw, Bob Kerr, and Gerry Dumais.
The funeral service was held at the Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church, Gillett, PA on Wednesday, June 28th with her pastor, Rev. Robert Wuethrich officiating.
Burial followed in Bradford County Memorial Park.
