George was born in Williamsport on December 9, 1932, a son of the late Harvey and Carrie (Edkin) Crawley.
He was married to the former Doris Roupp for over 40 years before her passing on Aug. 6, 1999.
George worked at Textron Lycoming in Williamsport for over 32 years before retiring. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He held life memberships at Ralston’s Red Run Gun Club, the Ralston Hunting Club and Roaring Branch Hunting Club. He also was a member of the Korean War Veterans in Williamsport.
George was the type of person who would gladly offer his assistance to anyone in need. He appreciated being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also was an avid bowler.
Surviving are children, Carrie (Kirk) Sallada and David (Peggy) Crawley all of Roaring Branch and Kelly Crawley, Williamsport; grandchildren, Kristen, Keane and Kyle Sallada and Luke Crawley; sister, Ruth “Peach” Myers of Montoursville and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife Doris, George was predeceased by sisters; Helen Pfleegor, Erma Tanner, Martha Ackerman, Mary “Tootie” Seitzer, Leona “Nonie” Roan and Shirley Kotz; brothers, Harold, Emery, Dorsey “Gene”, Harley “K-Boy” and Harvey Crawley and his special friend, Lois Beach.
