He was born in Buffalo, NY, on June 30, 1923, to Frederick J. Bryans, Sr. and Anne Tisdall Bryans.
Fred was a World War II veteran who served from January 1943 through November 1945 in the 1st combat battalion engineers. His unit received the Presidential Unit Citation for Battle of the Bulge service.
After his discharge, he worked with his father and brother in Bryans and Sons Paintings.
At the age of 40, Fred attended college to enter the ministry. He served churches in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan, Delaware, North Carolina, and Florida. He was also an accomplished organist.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Grace Engle Bryans; a daughter, Marlene; two brothers; and a sister.
He is survived by three daughters, Maxine Guercio, Kathy (Denny) Dennis, Gerry (Marty) Coffey; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Jan. 17 at Spitler Funeral Home Inc., Montoursville, with Pastor Marty Coffey officiating.
Burial will be in the Elmlawn Cemetery Tonawanda, N.Y.
