Born May 3, 1918, Frances, “Fran”, was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Ida (Williams) Kilbourn.
She was the devoted wife of Edwin Groover who passed away on May 9, 2000 and a beloved mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. Most important in Frances’ life was God and her family and home. She enjoyed her life as a busy farmwife on their dairy, Rockside Farms. In addition to helping with the daily farm work, she always kept the children and household on task. Frances was an active member of the Ogdensburg Church of Christ and a more than 50-year member of the former Ogdensburg Grange. Not only was she a wonderful cook, but she could do about anything she set her mind to. Frances also grew large vegetable gardens, lovingly tended to her flowerbeds and she enjoyed quilting and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her children; Emily Reep of Painted Post, NY, Edwina (Gary) Sims of Troy, Richard (Sheryl) Groover of Canton and Dale (Kay) Groover of Newark, NY; nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Kilbourn, Roaring Branch, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
