Born February 24th, 1934 in Armenia Township she was the daughter of Lloyd A. and Christine (Moore) Carnwright.
She was the widow of the late Kenneth S. Hite, with whom she had raised four sons and three daughters. They shared 30 years together until Ken’s passing in December of 1983.
In addition to caring for her family Frances was employed for many years as a Cafeteria Worker at the Canton Area School District. Frances was also an accomplished quilter, and following her retirement from the school system owned and operated a shop specializing in fabrics and other quilting and sewing supplies.
Frances is survived by her sons, Lloyd S. (& Beverly) Hite, John (& Tami) Hite and Kenneth (& Erin) Hite, all of Canton Township, daughters Nancy Grimm of Wyalusing and Barbara (& David) Groover of Canton Borough, eleven grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Christine Carnwright, husband Kenneth S. Hite, daughter Leone Hite, son Stanley Hite and brother Philip Carnwright.
The funeral service was held April 16 at Morse and Kleese Funeral Home, 94 N. Center Street, Canton, with Kathy Miller, assistant pastor of the Canton Ecumenical Parish, officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. (www.morseandkleesefuneralhome.com)
