
Elwin Merton Roberts was born February 16,1931 in Sayre, a son of the late Joseph S. and Lila H. (Jones) Roberts.
He was a 1949 graduate of Troy High School. On Oct. 8, 1955, Elwin married the former Beulah E. Peters in West Burlington. They were blessed with 50 years together and raised three children before her passing on May 18, 2005.
Elwin was a dairy farmer all his life. With Beulah by his side, they saw to the daily operations of the Robert’s Haven Dairy in Canton Township for over 33 years until retiring in 1990.
He also was employed by Grange Mutual Fire Insurance Co. and Martin’s Dairy Service in East Troy.
A devoted member of East Troy’s Baptist Church, Elwin’s love for the Lord was his guide throughout life. Other memberships included the Minnequa Grange No.754, Bradford/Sullivan Pomona Grange No. 23 and Bradford County’s Gideon Bible Auxiliary.
Three sons survive; Kevin (Teresa) Roberts, West Brookfield, MA, Mark (Lisa) Roberts, Canton and Eric (Sue) Roberts, Lewisburg; eight grandchildren; Marcia, Nathan (Whitney), Amber (Travis), Alecia (David), Jeremy, Talayna (Shane), Brant (Ayla) and Karsch (Sarah); nine great-grandchildren; sisters; Shirly McKin, Ellijay, GA and Emily (Dean) Shaffer, Geneseo, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
In addition to his wife Beulah, he was predeceased by a sister and brother; Anita Lewis in March of 2007 and Lewis Roberts in November of 2010.
The funeral was held Feb. 12 with Rev. Garry Zuber officiating service at the East Troy Baptist Church
Burial followed in Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda.
