Ernest E. “Ernie” Wright, 92, of Granville Summit, was called home to his heavenly reward on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Bradford County Manor.
Ernie was born in Canton Township May 19, 1923, one of four children born to the late Walter J. and Anna (Hienze) Wright.
He was a 1940 graduate of Canton High School and later entered the U.S. Army where he honorably served during WWII. On April 13, 1952 he married the former Mary Louise Schmouder in Troy and they were blessed with over 54 years together before her death on December 31, 2006.
Ernie was no stranger to hard work. He was a dedicated employee of the former Troy Agway for over 37 years until his retirement in 1985. Ernest was a man of strong faith in the Lord. He was a devoted member of the Windfall United Methodist Church and its seniors group. Ernie loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener.
Surviving are children; James (Diann) Wright, Towanda and Donald (Diane) Wright, Granville Summit; grandchildren; Megan Wright, Granville Summit and Donald Wright Jr., Scranton, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his beloved wife Mary, he was predeceased by two sons; Richard and Willard Wright, a brother, Charles Wright and two sisters; Evelyn Hinderliter and Beatrice Hall.
The funeral service to celebrate his life was held March 21 at the Windfall United Methodist Church with Pastor Josh Davinsizer officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 24, at the Beech Flats Cemetery with military honors accorded.
