Ellamae was born in Canton July 22, 1930 and was one of nine children of the late Paul and Maude Tillotson. Her dad gave this daughter the nickname of “Spike”.
Ellamae graduated from Canton High School in 1948.
She married Andrew Yaggie Sr. on May 14, 1949 and they shared 35 years of marriage before his passing on Feb. 11, 1984.
She was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Canton.
Ellamae’s family always came first in her life. She was the devoted wife of a farmer and a wonderfully caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ellamae enjoyed several hobbies, especially jig saw puzzles, crafting, sewing and knitting. She made beautiful afghans for all the family.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law; Andy, Jr. and Patty Yaggie, Canton and Ted and Margaret Yaggie, Roaring Branch, grandchildren; Greg Yaggie (Samantha), Jill (Tim) Brueilly, Amanda (Travis) Pepper, Andy Yaggie, III and Camryn Yaggie; great grandchildren; Shyanna, Sierra, Logan and Brian Yaggie, Levi, Alyssa, Grant and Barrett Pepper; sister; Annalee Wright, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband Andy, she was predeceased by great grandson; Brandon McNett and seven siblings; Aletha Wright, Ernestine Herman and Morrell, William, Dean, Lewis and Leon Tillotson.
In keeping with Mrs. Yaggie’s wishes, funeral services and burial in Grover Cemetery will be private.
