Born June 13, 1928 in Morris Run, she was one of six children of the late Joseph, Sr. and Agnes (Andrzejewski) Bubacz. She was married to Walter Augustine for 61 years before his passing on Apr. 11, 2008.
Eleanor enjoyed a strong work ethic all her life. Her first place of employment was the Corning Glass Factory in Wellsboro. She also worked at Canton’s Canford Manufacturing for several years in the 1970’s then retired. But mostly, she dedicated her life to her family.
Eleanor found much happiness spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as they all were her pride and joy. She was the heart of the family and will be lovingly remembered and missed dearly.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and listening to Polka music. She was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Parish in Blossburg. Her family extends a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Broad Acres for the wonderful care given to her the four weeks she was there. Also, a very special thank you to Dr. Christopher Fucito of Elmira’s Guthrie Family Practice and Dr. Waheed of Pine City Guthrie Cardiology for their excellent care and support these last few years.
In addition to her husband Walter, she was predeceased by four siblings; Dorothy Bubacz in 2017, Vincent Bubacz 1985, Chester Bubacz in 1975 and Joseph Bubacz, Jr. in 1931.
The Funeral Mass was held October 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Blossburg with Rev. Bryan Wright serving as Celebrant. Burial followed in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
