Mr. Scholtz was born in Canton, and was the son of the late Herman P. and Isabelle A. (Thomas) Scholtz. He was a retired engineer for various manufacturing companies in Pennsylvania and Prosser Laboratories of Effort, PA. He served as a boilerman in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Healy.
Mr. Scholtz is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet L. Williams Scholtz; his daughter, Susan J. (Donald) Guiswite; his sons, Edward C. (Jean) Scholtz and David C. (Susan) Scholtz; his grandchildren, Edward A. Scholtz, Sarah J. Scholtz, Kristen M. Greco, Lindsay A. Scholtz, Susan E. Panick and Jake L. Guiswite; his great‑granddaughter, Francesca M. Greco; his sister, Debra A. Barnes; his brother, John H. Scholtz.
A Visitation was held on Monday, from 11‑ 12 noon, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
