Dorothy M. Forrest, 88, of Towanda, formerly of Ulster, passed away early Sunday morning, September 25, 2016 at the home of her granddaughter, Mary Ellen Forrest with whom she resided.
Dorothy was born at home on the family farm in Burlington Township on March 26, 1928. She was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1946.
In January of 1956 she married Robert F. Forrest who predeceased her on October 30, 1983. Dorothy’s life encompassed her home and family. She was a member of the Ulster United Methodist Church. Dorothy enjoyed baking, canning, sewing and crocheting.

Surviving are children; Calvin Forrest and wife Eliza, Towanda, Janice Nielsen, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren; Mary Ellen (Timothy), Calvin Jr (Dawn)., Horton, Theresa, Shawn (Norilyn) and Elizabeth; great grandchildren; Cameron, J.C., Careah, Daniel, Eryck and Jeryck; half-sister, Edith Powell; half brother, Eldred Ellis and special friends at church.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Peder Nielsen on June 5, 2012.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bowen-Farr Funeral Home, 6 Farr St. Ulster, PA with Pastor Kitty Keller officiating.
