Dorothy Bubacz, 94, life-time resident of Morris Run, passed away Thursday morning August 31, 2017, at Carleton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro. Born in Morris Run August 12, 1923, Dorothy was one of six children of the late Joseph Sr. and Agnes (Andrzejewski) Bubacz.
She worked for many years at the former Remington Rand in Elmira until their closure and later at Corning Glass Works where she retired. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Parish in Blossburg. She enjoyed reading, sewing, tending to her flowers and houseplants, keeping up with current events and visiting with friends, relatives and neighbors. Dorothy’s family extends a very special thank you to the staff and caregivers at the Carleton Home and to Nurse Practitioner, Wendy Fetzer (palliative care) for the exceptional care given to her. She is survived by two sisters; Eleanor Augustine of Blossburg and Mary Stratton of the Green Home in Wellsboro, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers; Joseph Bubacz Jr. in 1931, Chester Bubacz in 1975 and Vincent Bubacz in 1985.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 10 – 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Zwicharowski Funeral Home, 314 Granger St. Blossburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St., Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Bryan B. Wright serving as Celebrant. In honoring Dorothy’s wishes, she will be later cremated and buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Morris Run. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial in Dorothy’s name to Blossburg Fire and Ambulance Assoc., 324 Main St. or the Blossburg Memorial Library, 307 Main St. both in Blossburg PA 16912
