Dolson James Porter, 73, died February 10 with his family surrounding him.
He was born in Blossburg, PA to the late Addison Charles & Etta Mae McNeal Porter.
He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U. S. Army. He was retired from Pinkerton & also volunteered with the fire department for 30 years. He raised his children and loved them more than life itself.
Surviving are his children Cheri Cranmer (Jeff), Wendell, Estee Porter, Asheville, Chad D. Porter (Tracey), Garner, Ciara Young (Lee), Wendell; beloved grandchildren Elena, Gibby, Chad, Kaitlyn, Kristen, C.J., Ronnie, Jordan, Kayla, R.J. & precious great grandchildren Lil E, Baby Charles, Summer, Bubba & Henry as well as many cherished family members in his hometown of Canton, PA.
The funeral was held at the Strickland Funeral Home, 2 Wendell, February 13.
Burial followed in Greenmount Cemetery with military honors.
