She was born in Elmira, New York on September 6, 1951, the daughter of Frank “Ed” Vermilya and Barbara (Packard) Vermilya.
Diane attended schools in Elmira, Williamsport and Canton, graduating Canton Area High School in June of 1970.
She resided in the Pocono region for a number of years where she was employed as a sales consultant and office worker for the Fernwood Resort.
It was there that she met he husband to be, Frank Disbrow. Diane experienced a debilitating disease at age 31. However, she pushed forward through rehabilitation so as not to be defined by her limitations.
In later years she and her beloved husband resided in Ulster, Canton and LeRoy Township where they spent many wonderful years together.
Diane made friends easily and was always ready to engage in a conversation on any topic. She served on the Resident Council at Highlands and spent many hours playing cards and Bingo, and attended church and special activities. She will be greatly missed by the many friends she made.
A graveside service will be held at Beech Flats Cemetery at noon, Saturday, December 16, with her cousin Dennis Vermilya officiating.
The family requests that memorials be directed to The Highlands Care Center (denote Resident Activities), PO Box 10, Laporte, Pa 18826, or to the Animal Care sanctuary, 353 Sanctuary Hill Lane, East Smithfield, Pa., 18817
