David Frederick Breidt

 David Frederick Breidt, 78, passed away peacefully and comforted by his wife on June 26, 2016.
    David was born on March 10, 1938, in Newark, NJ, the eldest child of Charles David Breidt and Rose Batterson Breidt.
    Following his graduation from Roxbury High School, in Succasunna, NJ, he enlisted in the United States Navy.
    David was married to Bernice Emily Breidt for 56 years. In addition to his wife Bernice, he is survived by  sons; David Peter Breidt and his wife Jeni Breidt, Waxhaw, NC; Christopher Michael Breidt and his wife Cathy Breidt, Indian Trail, NC and Peter Frederick Breidt and his wife Heidi Breidt, Virginia Beach, VA.
 David and Bernice have 11 grandchildren; Brendon Morgan, Brianna Breidt, Taylor Breidt, Mya Blackwelder; Allison Pressley, Jonathan Pressley, Rachel Pressley, Rebecca Breidt; Rylan Breidt, Alexander Breidt, and Sawyer Breidt.
      He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles Breidt and Dennis Breidt and his sister Clara Wenger. He is survived by his brothers Donald Breidt, Robert Breidt, and Gary Breidt.
    Previously residing in Canton  for 28 years, David and Bernice Breidt have resided in Monroe, NC for the past 12 years. David and Bernice enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and enjoying the company of each other. David was a devoted husband and father. He had a wonderful relationship with his 11 grandchildren who affectionately called him “PaPa”. The love for his wife Bernice was the priority of his life. The affection was obvious to all of us that knew and loved him. He set an example for all of us to follow.
    A funeral service was  held June 29, at Heritage Funeral Home-Weddington Chapel.  Chaplain Michael Flynn officiated. Online guestbook at www.heritagecares.com.
