Daniel A. Horner, 67, Canton, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Guthrie Troy Community Hospital.
Born February 26, 1950 in Sayre, Daniel Anthony was a son of the late Daniel F. Horner and Alberta M. (Gibbs) Bradley and stepson of John F. “Brad” Bradley.
After graduating from Athens High School in 1968 where he enjoyed F.F.A. and wrestling, he served our country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He later attended Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL.
He worked in the construction trades for many years, most recently for a concrete company. Daniel knew the Lord in his heart. While living in Illinois, he was a member of Rardin’s Baptist Church. Daniel spoke often of his love for the Orange Hill area near Athens, PA where he appreciated spending time in the woods and fishing. He also enjoyed times shared with family and friends, riding his motorcycles, “oldies” music and western movies.

Surviving are daughters, Dawn Blankenbeker (Chris) and Shawn Hendershot (Jason) all of Illinois; grandchildren, Kailee Blankenbeker, Shay and Shelby Lawrence, Lauren and Adam Hendershot; siblings, Catherine A. Horner Keeny of Tennessee, Patricia M. Horner Smith of Maryland, Barbara A. Horner Montgomery of PA, Clarence “Alan” Bradley of PA and Elizabeth Y. Bradley of Michigan; several nieces, nephews, cousins. Special friends; Flo, Dale Hart, Mark Forster, Martie Trey and Olivia Howard. Also a special thank you to Daniel’s friend, Randy Howard of Canton, for being there for Dan especially during his final days.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Michael A. Horner.
The family invites friends to gather for a time of remembrance from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 27, at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Dr., Canton.
It was Dan’s wishes there be no funeral service and burial be private.
