Cleo W. Cease, 95, long-time resident of Canton, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, March 14, 2016 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Guthrie Memorial Hospital in Towanda.
Cleo Wilma was born on December 6, 1920 in Shunk, the daughter of the late Clyde and Myrtle (Hogaboom) Fuller. On July 21, 1948 Cleo married Nelson D. “Nelt” Cease in Troy. Together they shared 52 years of loving marriage before his passing on December 4, 2000.
Cleo was a quiet person. She will be lovingly remembered for her kind and generous nature. She loved all animals and especially enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. Cleo made many hats promoting the former Joe’s Sports Center in East Canton . She also was recognized for devoting her talents in making baby blankets and hats for migrant workers.

She is survived by children, Norman (Nat) Cease of Chelmsford, MA, Willard (Rosalie) Cease of Canton, Sharon (Ed) McNett of Blossburg, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband Nelt, Cleo was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Lafferty in 1995 and her siblings.

The funeral and committal service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dan Walker officiating. Burial will be private.
