Claude Wayne Murphy, 68, Paw Paw, WV passed away on June 1, 2015 at Western Maryland Health System, Cumberland, MD.
Born on December 1, 1946 in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Marshall and Viola “Dot” (Lowry) Murphy.
He was Director of Polish Christian Ministry, he served in several churches as a minister in Maryland and Pennsylvania. He was Pastor of the Grover Church of Christ from 1970 to 1974. He was Director of Eastern Christian Conference and Director of Development at Eastern Christian College.

Surviving are his wife, Diana Fay (Lease) Murphy, two daughters, Marianne Lesler and husband Randy of Knoxville, TN, Rebecca Smith and husband Kenny of Richmond, VA, three brothers, Ray Murphy and wife Nelda of Troutville, VA, Emmett Murphy and wife Dolores of Newport News, VA, Glenn Murphy and wife Donna of Front Royal, VA, two sisters, Nancy Boyer and husband Keith, Gail Lane and husband Floyd all of Ashland, VA, seven grandchildren, Rachel, Rhiannan, Randi, Braidon Lesler, Austin, Ethan & Landon Smith.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Murphy Jr. and a grandchild, Madison Smith.
The funeral service was held on Saturday June 6, 2015 at Augusta Church of Christ with Pastor Ken Meade, Pastor Joe Wilson and Pastor Loren Deckard officiating. Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery near Paw Paw, WV.
