Charles Franklin, “Chuck” to family and friends, was born July 20, 1935 in Troy, a son of the late Earle and Nellie (Spencer) Rolison. A graduate of Troy High School, Chuck also graduated from Jean Summers Business School in Elmira before enlisting in the U.S. Army. On August 17, 1958, he married the former Arlene Isaacs in Canton. Chuck was controller/general manager and sales person for Lemoncelli Tire Co. before they combined with Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. He worked as a traveling manager for Firestone in the southern tier of New York State for many years. Following his retirement, Chuck worked out of his home as a self-employed accountant until the time of his death.
He was a member of Columbia Cross Roads United Methodist Church and most recently attended Southside Alliance Church in Elmira, NY. Chuck was very civic minded and active in his community.
Surviving is his wife Arlene; daughters, Leslie (Al) Trosi, Penn Yan, NY, Ellen Fox of Ft. Myers, FL, Denise (Milt) Packard, Hampstead, NC and Jennifer (Jim) McGonigal, Caton, NY; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters, Marge (Wilbur) Morse, Canton and Beverly Wilson, Elmira; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Bonnie) Isaacs, Reno, NV, Earl (Marian) Isaacs, Campbell, NY, Donald Isaacs, Surf City, NC, Gary Isaacs and Phylis (Bud) Austin all of Canton and Nathalee Darde of Line Lexington, PA
He was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Stolldorf in 2006, siblings, Nora (Eugene) Rockwell, Jean (LeRoy) Goodwin, Harold (Toni) Rolison, brother-in-law, Dale Isaacs and sister-in-law, Joyce Boyden.
The funeral services was held Saturday, Jan. 3 at Pepper Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. John Connell and Rev. Chris Nauta officiating.
Burial will be private.
