Charles Fitzsimmons, 62, Troy, passed away while surrounded by loved ones on Friday morning, December 2, 2016 at Guthrie Troy Community Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Charles William, “Chuck” to family and friends, was born November 2, 1954 in Philadelphia.  He was one of four sons of Edmund and Helen (Hipple) Fitzsimmons and a graduate of Henderson High School in West Chester.  On November 28, 1981, he married the former Doreen Morgan in the Austinville Church.
Chuck was skilled in a variety of carpentry trades and enjoyed his work.  He was self-employed for several years.
A private person, he overcame some personal struggles; Chuck’s family was his pride and joy.  He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting, bowhunting and fishing.  One would usually find him out on his family's cabin….mowing, and doing it the right way.  He was a die-hard Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs fan.   Chuck also loved dogs and raised them all his life.  His family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Renzi, his staff and the Troy Hospital staff.
In addition to his parents, Helen and Edmund of Pottstown, surviving is his wife Doreen;  children; Jordan (Rachel) Fitzsimmons,  Raeford, NC, Christine (Patrick) McCarty, Kelly (Joseph) Chamberlain and Melissa (Joshua) Strope all of Troy; grandchildren; Patrick, Logan, Addison, Mallory, Mikayla, Miranda, Tristan, Vivian and Zoey; three brothers; William (Cherie) Fitzsimmons, Pottstown, Edmund III (Denise) Fitzsimmons, Birdsboro and Robert (Michele)Fitzsimmons of Mill Village; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Chuck also leaves his beloved canine companions, "Heidi" and "Ziva".

He was predeceased by maternal and paternal grandparents and his father-in-law, Kenneth Morgan.  Also, two very special dogs, Teddy and Thea.
In keeping with Mr. Fitzsimmon’s wishes, services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers consider a memorial to Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box 179 Ulster, PA 18850 or to Animal Care Sanctuary, P.O. Box A East Smithfield, PA 18817
Arrangements are in the care of Pepper Funeral Home Canton.
