Charles Edward Porter of Canton passed away Friday, April 17th, 2015 at the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY, with his family at his side. Charlie was born in Grover on March, 21st, 1942 , to Addison and Etta (McNeal) Porter. He was one of 14 children, and had seven brothers and six sisters. For most of his life he lived in Canton, working at various places.
Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed Monday nights watching wrestling with his brother-in-law, Simeon Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Addison and Etta Porter, two sons, a daughter, three brothers Willis “Butch” Porter, Addison “Deanie” Porter , infant brother Michael Porter and sister Mable Roupp.
At the request of Charlie there will be no services, and Morse & Kleese Funeral Home is assisting the family. The family is planning a memorial dinner to be announced at a later date on the Porter Family facebook page. Rest in peace, Brother.
