Catherine Adell, “Cathy” to family and friends, was born September 20, 1934 in Albemarle County, Virginia, the only child of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Mawyer) Romine.
She worked at Troy’s Paper Magic for many years and retired when the business closed.
Cathy enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved camping on Armenia Mountain and at Ives Run. One would usually find Cathy out and about while socializing with family and her many friends.
She was a member of Canton’s WOTM Lodge, Troy’s American Legion/V.F.W., Blossburg V.F.W., Morris Run American Legion and the Ridgebury Sportsmen’s Club.
Surviving are her sons; Larry Weed, Athens and Garry Weed, Ridgebury; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; son-in-law, Rick Phares, Bentley Creek; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Weed in 1993; daughters, Rebecca Phares and Hope Smith; friend and companion, Jim Morgan.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be private in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy.
