Born in Canton, PA, Bruce Andrew was a son of the late Percy Andrew and Neva Lou (Shedden) McMurray. He graduated from Troy High School in 1957. Bruce was employed as a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic until retiring in 2005. Later Bruce and his wife, the former Karen Moffat, relocated to the Windfall area. He was a member of the Canton Moose Lodge No. 429, a social member of the
Canton V.F.W. Post 714 and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers of Phoenix, AZ. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed times shared with family and friends. Favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing and planting trees. He also attended many tractor pulls and stockcar races.
Surviving is his wife Karen; children: Travis McMurray, Lori Stegemann and Janis Proffitt all of Phoenix and Brenda Fly, Houston, TX; mother-in-law, Phyllis Moffat, Elmira, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers; Cliff McMurray, Canton and Gene McMurray, Granville Summit; aunt and uncle; Norma Shedden, Troy and Leon Shedden, Granville Summit; many, a sister-in-law, Jo (Dennis) Carlson, Justin, TX, special nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service to honor Bruce’s life will be announced at a later date. Burial will be private.
