Born July 5, 1922 at the family home in LeRoy Township, Betty was a twin and one of eight children of the late Harry and Helen (Bunyan) Rockwell. She attended LeRoy Elementary School and graduated from Canton High School in 1941. Betty worked at Belmar Manufacturing in Canton in her early years. She then became a caregiver to her parents during their declining health.
Betty loved life and appreciated nature’s beauty. She was a Christian, and God was with her everyday. She remained energetic and inquisitive all of her life. Most of all Betty loved her family. Even though she had no children of her own, she took an active part in raising and loving her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Betty enjoyed playing the piano and fiddle, watching baseball, and playing Pinochle with her family.
She also loved her feline friends, was an avid reader and wrote lovely poems mostly about nature. Betty was very happy living at Twin Oaks Personal Care Home for the past eight years and at Matson’s Personal Care Home for seven years prior. The family would like to thank the caregivers of both facilities for their love and caring of Betty.
