Born at home in Estella, PA September 11, 1955, he was a son of the late Walter and Grace (Fetherbay) Borek. As a young boy, Bernie moved to the Coryland area with his family where he spent many of his years farming, eventually logging and running his own sawmill. Being a hardworking man with many talents, woodworking was something he enjoyed very much and he did an amazing job at it. Bernie then found his way to the Alba area where he was self-employed doing construction. He enjoyed deer hunting in his younger years. Anytime he could, Bernie always enjoyed going to a good auction to see what great finds to acquire next. A wonderful storyteller, Bernie could also tell a good joke or two.
In addition to his parents, Bernie was predeceased by a brother, Michael Borek.
Rev. Lee Modlin officiated a memorial service to celebrate his life on March 18, at Pepper Funeral Home, in Canton.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests your consideration of a donation in Bernie’s name to Ivy Dialysis, 602 Ivy St. Elmira, NY 14905 with Bernie Borek noted in the memo. www.pepperfuneralhomes.com
