Barbara was born November 17, 1928 in Springfield Township, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Ward) Newell.
After graduating from Troy High School, Barbara married Robert G. Kendall on August 14, 1947 and together they raised their three children in the home they built on Mud Creek Road. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before Robert passed away on December 3, 2001.
Surviving are daughter Sally (Steve) Sterling, Gillett; and sons Thomas (Donna) Kendall, Gillett and Richard Kendall, Troy. She leaves behind her loving grandchildren Clint (Tammy) Harkness, Jodi Harkness, Nicole (Jason) Beardsley, and Michelle Kendall (Chris Payne); several great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; step-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Jack and Nelda Kendall, Jean Kendall, Jackie Raymond, Ruth Kendall, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her infant daughter Sheila Mae, brothers Merle and Leo Newell, brothers-in-law Philip, Merle, Clifford, and Wayne Kendall, and sisters-in-law Helen Newell and Betty Kendall.
The funeral service to honor Barbara’s life was held June 13 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. Troy, with her pastor and friend, Rev. Richard Noggle officiating.
Burial followed the service in Bradford County Memorial Park.
