On Sunday, December 13th, 2015, former Canton resident Stacy Lee (Morse) Marbaker passed away unexpectedly at her residence in Troy. She was 49 years of age. Born in Rochester, N. H. on September 16th, 1966, she was the daughter of Karen Morse.
Marjorie M. Gooch, 90, formerly of Coudersport, passed away Sunday (Dec. 13, 2015) at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata.
Born Oct. 1, 1925, in Roulette, she was the daughter of J. Walter and Thelma Matteson Metzger. On Nov. 6, 1943, in Olean, N.Y., she married Everett N. Gooch, who preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2007. Marjorie was a graduate of Coudersport High School. She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church and attended the Hebron Seventh Day Baptist Church. Agnes Stowell, 63, of Troy, died December 12, 2015 at Troy Community Hospital, Troy.
She was born April 15, 1952 in Blossburg, a daughter of Addison and Etta (McNeal) Porter. Agnes enjoyed watching Gun Smoke and westerns on TV, playing Yahtzee and Aggravation. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth L. Stowell, Sr. on April 20, 2015 and would have celebrated 45 years of marriage on June 20th, 2015. Agnes is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Jennifer Stowell, Columbia Cross Roads; daughters and sons-in-law, Angie Lewis, Towanda, Darlene and Timothy Ayers, Troy, Peggy and Chris Selfridge, Canton; ten grandchildren, Travis, Cortney, Josh, Jake, Kerstin, Shaylee, Nathan, Alexis, Jayden and Cameron; great grandchildren, Bentley and Tatum; brothers and a sister-in-law, Dolson Porter, NC, Gary, Randy (Donna) and Tom all of Canton; sisters, Rose Jaquith, Troy, Pauline (Simeon) Jackson, Canton, Ruth Machemer, Troy; Mary (Joe) Walburn, Troy; mother-in-law, Shirley Seney of TN. Lonnie Raymond Jones, Sr., age 64, of Troy, PA, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, surrounded by his loving family. Lonnie was the husband of Rosalita (Burguess) (Frost) Jones. He was born on March 30, 1951 in Sayre, a son of Lloyd and Barbara (Barrowcliff) Jones. Lonnie was a truck driver for 26 years and also worked at Husted’s Sawmill. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Thomas E. Holley, 87, of Morris Run, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro. Thomas Edward was born Dec. 2, 1928 in Ralston, a son of the late Thomas and Nellie May (Molyneux) Holley. He married the former Margaret Miller on Dec. 7, 1957. They shared 58 wonderful years together and raised six children. In earlier years, Tom worked for Volkswagen. He later was employed as a laborer and mechanic at Blossburg’s Ward Foundry until retiring in 1994. Family and home were most important in Tom’s life. He was blessed with a strong work ethic and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed camping. Tom was a life-member of Hillside Rod and Gun Club in Blossburg. Michael A. Brown, 43, of Columbia Cross Roads, passed away accidently on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.
Mike was born on September 25, 1972 in Troy, son of Merle E. “Butch” and Linda A. (Vargson) Brown, Jr. of Troy. He was a 1991 graduate of Troy High School and was employed as a Quality Inspector for NASCO in Waverly, NY. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed all outdoor activities and watersports, and was involved in tractor pulling. He was Christian by faith. During the early morning hours of December 5th, 2015, Kandace Lane (Corson) Camp, 66, passed away quietly at Bradford County Manor.
Born in Elmira, NY February 16th, 1949, she was the daughter of Edwin and Evelyn (Bachert) Corson. Gary E. Wolfe, 67, Burlington, PA, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 4, 2015. Gary was born March 19, 1948 in Granville Summit, PA son of the late Howard & Alwilda (Boyce) Wolfe. He was a graduate of Troy High School. Gary entered the US Army and served his country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Gary was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, and Bronze Star Medal for his service to his country. He was the proprietor of Wolfe’s Garage in Burlington for many years and had previously driven school bus for the Troy and Athens School Districts and operated a gun shop in Burlington. He was currently employed at JELD-WEN as an electrician.
Gary E. Wolfe, Age 67, of Berwick Turnpike, Burlington, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 4, 2015.
Family and Friends are welcome to gather from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Burlington United Methodist Church, near the crossroads of Route 6 on the Berwick Turnpike in Burlington. On December 27th, 2915, Mary A. (Shedden) Carney, 73, Troy passed away quietly at Troy Community Hospital. Born December 2nd, 1942 in Windfall, Pa., she was the daughter of Harold J. and Evelyn (Walburn) Shedden.
Mary was a free spirited person who enjoyed the free-wheeling life of a carnival worker, travelling from one county fair to the next. Later she settled in Hoosick Falls ,NY, and worked several years as a bartender, where her quick sense of humor served her well. |
