Alfred Celli

8/19/2018

It is with love and affection that we remember Alfred Celli who passed on Aug 19, 2018. Al will be best remembered for his laughter, his joking and the teasing of those he loved.
He was a permanent fixture at the Mobil Station in Troy for many years, where he fulfilled his role of town "mayor" giving his customers a smile and a laugh with their full tank of gas before sending them on their way.
He honorably served his country during the Korean War, loved to roller skate when he was younger, and in his retirement he spent most of his time outdoors gardening.
Al lived most of his life in Bradford County, PA and was predeceased by his parents, Guerrino and Santina Celli; his brother, Eugene (Geno); his sisters-in-law, Betty (Geno) and Irene (Lou); and former wife, Dorothy Ward Driesbaugh.
He is survived by his current wife Patricia Dukeman Celli; his brother, Louis Celli (Wheaton, IL);  daughters and sons-in law, Marie and Keith Seymour (Columbia Cross Roads, Julie and Tom Horton (Carlisle, PA), Joy and Jan Nichols (Pine City, NY); Justine Maxson , Jennifer and Victor Pignataro. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Greg (Ronda) Seymour, Scott (Jonelle) Seymour, Bryan (Tanya) Seymour, Steve (Danna) Stone, Tom (Brandi) Horton Jr., Jamie (Nicole) Horton, Renee (Dave) Knisely; Tristan Pignataro, Layne and Thea Maxson, and Emily Green, 16 great-grandchildren, and several very special cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service was held at Walter J Kent Funeral Home, Elmira, Aug. 25th
Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to West Elmira Fire Departments or Chemung County Humane Society, Elmira NY.
The family  would like to express their great appreciation to the staff of Elcor Nursing Facility for their kind and thoughtful care of Al and the West Elmira Fire and Police Departments for always being there when they needed them.
