Aimee was born Aug. 30, 1968 in Perth Amboy, N.J., the 13th child of Robert and Margaret Rogers. She was 6 years old when she moved to Troy, PA.
Aimee graduated from Troy High School in 1986. She married her high school sweetheart, William Hansell on Oct. 3, 1987.
Aimee went on to business school, but her life's ambition was to be a mother. Over the years her dream came true four times. Her children are: Allyson (Jon), Olivia (Damon), Wyatt (Grace), and Adrianna. She graduated from a mother to a grandmother (Mimi) when her grandson, Walker was born on May 11, 2012.
When her children began school she also went to school to work with students with disabilities. The job was demanding yet rewarding. After the school year ended there was a summer camp called Camp Star for the children and she would become a camp counselor to those kids. Her heart and soul was devoted to the children and the camp so much that she would read stories and sing them to sleep. Her two eldest daughters also helped with the camp to continue the compassion she had that they saw through her. Her youngest is also planning to follow in their footsteps.
Acts 8:37: And Phillip said, "If you believe with all of your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." Because she did in fact believe, we now know and believe to where she has moved on.
The rest of her family includes, mother-in-law, Sharon Hansell; father-in-law, William Hansell; sister-in-law, Jennifer Briggs (Jim); siblings, Kathy Lane, Tim Rogers (Donna), Ruth Riedel (Fred), Robert Rogers (Debbie), Denis Rogers (Lynn), Gerrianne Robertson, Mark Rogers (MaLou), John Rogers (Karen), Lisa McBratney (Bill Jr.), Jeanne Grace (Larry), Richard Rogers (Stacy), James Rogers (Symantha); 39 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers and meals, Aimee's wishes would be that you do these things to show an act of kindness to someone else in need in her memory. Or remember the Guthrie Cancer Patient Assistance Fund with checks payable to Guthrie Clinic/Nancy Quattrini Fund, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840.
A memorial service will be handled privately at the family's convenience. Services are handled by Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, Elmira, N.Y.
