Grace Rogers, 89, Canton, passed away Friday morning, November 6, 2015 at the Bradford County Manor.
Grace was born at the family home in Granville Summit on July 14, 1926, the last survivor of 13 children in the late James and Mabel (Colton) Shedden’s family.
She married Marvin Rogers in 1957 at the Grover Church of Christ. Grace’s life revolved around her love for family and home. Always one to stay busy, she enjoyed doing many things, especially walking, reading, playing cards and bingo.
Surviving are her five children, Charles Gates, Towanda, James Gates, Canton, Donna Davy, Roaring Branch, Virginia (Joe) Piontek, Canton and Helen (Allen) Kilmer, Alba; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and several close friends.
In addition to her husband Marvin who passed away in 1989.
Grace was predeceased by granddaughter, Heather Kilmer in 2002; daughter-in-law, Rita Gates; son-in-law, James Davy and twelve siblings, Howard Shedden, Harold Shedden, Arthur Shedden, Max Shedden, Gerald Shedden, June Shedden, Alice Williams, Josephine Bennett, Eleanor Comstock, Dorothy Kithcart, Geraldine Haner and Hazel Saunders.
The funeral service was held at the Pepper Funeral Home, Canotn, on Monday, November 9, with Rev. Jasper Smith officiating the funeral service to honor Grace’s life.
Burial was in Windfall Cemetery.
