Starting this week, Canton Elementary students started selling the Second Edition of the Bradford County Playing Cards as part of the fundraising efforts to earn enough money for a new and safer playground.

On Monday, October 26, Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox heard the Floodplain violation case involving Brian Krise's property on Springbrook Drive.
Canton Borough contended that a DEP permit was required in order for the HRI job trailer to be placed on Mr. Krise's lot, which is located between Towanda Creek and Springbrook Drive. In September 2015, the Canton Borough Street Department handled these jobs: • Checked on pool and picked up trash • Picked up, hauled and chipped several loads of brush • Dug holes for posts for antiskid building • Had plans drawn and got permit for new antiskid shed • Tore out beaver dams • Went to Equipment Show • Picked up new truck at Watson’s and delivered it to their Troy Street shop • Responded to several PA One Call requests • Drained down the pool • Finished window trim at office • Cut trees back on bank for new antiskid shed • Met with HRI several times on paving projects • Repaired boom on Sweeper; greased all fittings • Cleaned some catch basin grates Canton Borough issued an assessment permit for a sidewalk at 53 East Tioga Street on September 22.
The Canton Farmers' Market has closed for the season. We will see you in the spring! Last day to pay 2015 Canton Area School District Real Estate and Occupation/Per Capita Taxes at face value, in the CASD tax office, is Friday, October 30th. The office will be open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. All other payments can be dropped off at First Citizens Bank or postmarked by October 31st, to be considered on time.
