An offering will be received to benefit "We Care" program. Attention area residents: Come in and find out just what the Canton Clothing Center has to offer. It carries a great variety of items at bargain prices.
The staff at the Center appreciate all for the donations, which makes it possible for the Center to stay open. If you do not know where this "shop" is located, it is on Tioga Street in Canton, in the basement of the Canton Senior Center Building. The Center is open on Wednesdays, 8-3 and Saturdays, 8-12. Everyone is invited to stop by and check it out. You will be glad you did. Once again the churches of Troy are inviting you to come together during the Lenten season.
For seven Wednesdays beginning on Feb. 18th (Ash Wednesday) area churches will meet at Troy Baptist Church. Each Wednesday different church or churches will act as host event and will provide a time for worship followed by a soup/sandwich lunch. This year’s worship theme is: “Memorable Meetings With Jesus”. Each luncheon event begins at Noon and a donation will help fund the Troy Area Food Pantry. • Wednesday – March 4 – Troy/Windfall/Big Pond/Wetona United Methodist hosting "Meeting with woman at the well" Local businesses promoted their goods and services to engaged couples and community members on Saturday, February 21st as a part of Canton Area Chamber of Commerce’s First Bridal Expo. Twenty-four vendors from Canton and the surrounding areas participated, selling everything from DJ-ing services to customized bags and Tupperware to tuxedo rentals. This first-of-its-kind event was held at the Canton Area Junior/Senior High School Gymnasium. Attendance was good despite the threatening winter weather.
The Canton Area Ministerium has announced the Lenten Luncheon Schedule for 2015.
All luncheons will be hosted at the Canton Ecumenical Church on Norther Center Street, in Canton at 11:45 a.m. every Tuesday for about an hour. March 3, host church, Canton Church of Christ, Rev. Bonnie Browning, speaker. Menu includes: Chili, Coleslaw, Roll, Brownies, Coffee, tea, water. Hey! No monkeyin’ around. Join your favorite bunch of Jungle Book characters as they try to catch a tiger by the tail when the Missoula Children's Theatre and more than 60 local students present The Jungle Book, an original musical adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic.

Every year the trustees of the Green Free Library have a letter campaign fundraiser. The response from the community is heart warming. The generosity has helped to keep the library open 101 years.
