TROY — The Troy Hometown Christmas online scavenger hunt is going on now.
The chamber of commerce is asking people to shop locally this year and by doing so, they will be able to participate in the online event. The event runs through the whole month of December.
Participants will look for various items on chamber member websites or social media pages for a chance to win gift certificates to the local businesses.
They will take a screenshot of the items they find and post their screenshots on their own Facebook page with the hashtag #TroyPAHometownChristmas2020 and the name of the business.
For every screenshot, participants will get an entry for a gift certificate drawing.
For community members who are not online, paper entries forms are around Troy. Complete the form and leave it at the business you got it from.
At the end of December, winners will be chosen.
Chamber is also encouraging businesses to decorate their store fronts in light of the holiday season. Everyone is invited to participate and the decorating can take place any time throughout December.
“Decorate the Downtown” is a window display competition, to help “brighten” Troy this holiday season.
There will be one winner and one runner-up prize, which will be awarded in January.
For questions on these events, go to the chamber website at www.troychamberofcommerce.com, or call 570-529-1256.
