CANTON — Light Night has been a tradition in the Canton community for many years. However, Canton residents celebrated Light Night a little differently this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Light Night still took place on Friday, Nov. 27, as usual, but Santa was not able to greet children inside the bank. Instead, he rode on the top of a fire engine, and greeted children outside with a mask on to kick-start the holiday season. Chamber would like to thank the Canton Fire Department for the use of their vehicles to help make this a success and fun for the children.
Holiday cheer in the form of music played on speakers on Main and Troy Streets, thanks to Amy Seeley and Chris Boggs of Boggs Hi-Tech Solutions. The music will be played throughout the month to help brighten spirits in town.
Local businesses participated in window decorating this year as well, lighting the town up with different strings of white, blue, red, green and more. Chamber provided local businesses with lights, thanks to Baldwin’s Hardware.
Winners for the decorating contest will be announced on Dec. 18, as with the raffle and the Small Business week raffle as well.
To purchase raffle tickets for the chamber’s annual raffle, stop in the Canton Sentinel or ask a chamber member.
