CANTON — Brent Hartford of Canton is asking for your vote in the race to build a dream chopper with Paul Tetul Sr. from American Choppers.
Hartford is currently in the quarter finals of the contest and asks for one minute of your time to click vote on his picture on the dream chopper website.
The proceeds benefit Hudson Valley SPCA, which is a no-kill animal shelter in New York. The shelter is special to Paul Teutul Sr.
“Near and dear to the heart of Paul Teutul Sr., the Hudson Valley SPCA Foundation is a no-kill animal shelter that aims to lead the fight against animal abuse by providing caring services for each animal while actively finding forever homes for them,” reads the website.
Voting for the competition began on Oct. 26. Hartford has placed up in first place over several weeks now, only coming in second place on the second week.
So far, Hartford has been happy to see the community support him and vote for him in the competition.
“I’ve gotten quite a bit of support from the community. There were more than 140 people in my group alone and I beat all of them to get into the fifth round,” said Hartford. “Now there is 16 in this group I’m competing with.”
Quarterfinals end on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 11 p.m. Brent is asking his community to come forward and vote to help him secure the quarterfinal win and go onto the semifinals.
The semi-finals will begin Friday, Dec. 4, and run until Thursday, Dec. 10. The finals will begin Dec. 11 and end on Dec. 17, determining the winner of the competition.
According to the website, The one verified Grand Prize Winner in this Competition will receive a prize package valued at an approximate maximum retail equivalent of $135,000, comprised of (a) $100,000 Chopper Build (b) $25,000 being filmed to appear in an episode with Paul Senior. and (c) $10,000 estimated value of being photographed to appear in the Magazine.
As of press time, Hartford is in 8th place and needs the votes to bump back up to first to continue to the semi-finals.
