TROY — Due to rising COVID cases, Troy Chamber of Commerce met viturally on ZOOM for their meeting on Nov. 4, at noon.
The meeting revolved around discussion of the upcoming Business and Person of the Year awards, which will take place on Dec. 2 at the next Troy Chamber meeting.
The three nominees for Person of the Year are Bill Bower, David Rockwell and Veronica Seymour.
The three nominees for Business of the Year are Pivot, Troy Area School District and C&N Bank.
The Troy Lions Club- is preparing for Christmas baskets, applications have been posted on Facebook and downtown in different businesses, if you would like to apply please fill one out and get it turned in ASAP. Please pass the word along, its been a tough year. Deadline to submit your applications is Wednesday, Nov. 25.
Troy Area School District reported that they are updating their website.
Chamber had a few businesses apply for the COVID-19 relief grant the committee will be meeting short to review them, most all applicants requested the full $500. There should be another opportunity for another round towards the end of the year.
Downtown Christmas decorations have been hung for the season.
Chamber decided not to go forward with Hometown Christmas this year.
Wednesday, Dec. 2, will be the final Troy Chamber of Commerce meeting of the year. It is also a special meeting honoring the nominees and awarding of the Person of the Year and Business of the Year recipients, as well as hearing the great things Troy Chamber has accomplished in 2020. As expected, this meeting will be adjusted for COVID accommodations.
The meeting will take place at the Troy Vets Club from noon to 1 p.m. Seating is limited. Cost is $10/person. The lunch options is a chef salad or lasagna with garlic bread.
RSVP is a MUST as we cannot exceed 25-person capacity. Deadline to RSVP with your name and lunch choice is Friday, Nov. 27. RSVP to bctourism@bradfordco.org.
