The first item on the agenda was the election of officers.
Elected President was Krystle Bristol; Vice President, Robyn Chamberlain; Secretary, Rachel Rossiter; Treasurer, Elizabeth Card Bower.
Treasurer Elizabeth Card Bower gave the financial report and noted that there were 80 members in 2014.
In the absence of the President, Robyn Chamberlain conducted the meeting.
It was noted that the Chamber had a very successful year.
They exceeded the paid membership goal and have upped it for 2015 to a total of 100 with a goal of first time members 20. They are hoping to get members who were former members.
2015 plaques and stickers are now available for businesses who are coming members for this year.
It was voted to budget $300 for membership promotions.
The goal this time for facebook likes is 1000. The Chamber facebook page is nearly this magic number.
The Chamber offers Chamber certificates and the program was explained to members in attendance. All the business has to do is accept them and then bring them to a meeting or contact Elizabeth to refund your money. It is a great idea for gift giving.
It was noted that the Troy Lions purchased 100 $20 gift certificates which were part of the Christmas basket project.
It was noted that chairman of the committees now will have more responsibility for their projects.
Person of the Year committee chairperson is Will Harlyo. Members include Victoria Seymour, and Michelle Barrett.
Advertising/Publicity chairperson is Jenn Malehorn; members include Rachel Rossiter and Andrea Sutton.
Finance committee is comprised of Elizabeth Card, chairperson and Michelle Barrett. Also Judy and Denis Beardslee.
Car Show Committee: Marinanne Everts, chairperson. Members Rod Spalding, Bill Dixon, and Adam Hall.
Events committee: Chairperson, Deb Harer. Members Will Harlow, who will be in charge of the Maple Festival; Heather Machmer, the Halloween parade; Shelley Walcheski and Jenn Malehorn.Tayce Renzo, and Michelle Barnett.
Membership Committee: Robyn Chamberlain, chair; Jenn Swain, Heather Machmer, and Cassy Dygert.
Merchandise, Elizabeth Card, chair; with others to be announced.
Social Media: Chris O'Connor, Chair and Rachel Rossiter.
All contact information was given out at the meeting so everyone will be available.
Membership packets need to be assembled and mailed by January 30th.
A budget will be set up in the near future, so expenses, donations, and assets can be calculated.
A discussion was held about the Five Chamber Mixer which was held recently. It was decided, that if possible the Troy Chamber will sponsor this event for 2015. They hope to make it bigger. More details to follow.
Robyn wondered if anyone knew of a business student who they could recommend for a leadership course.
The mission statement of the Troy Chamber was also distributed to the members.
A tentative meeting venue for 2015 was also given to those in attendance.
