CANTON — Canton Township Supervisors discussed a bid advertisement at their Feb. 7 meeting.
The bid is concerning a dirt and gravel project on Williams Hollow Road. The grant from the Bradford County Conservation District for this project was started last year an the deadline for it is to be June 30, 2022. This grant comes from a Penn State program.
Kristin Pepper with the BCCD is assisting the township with a bid package for the work being done. The township is responsible for a certain percentage of the cost and the BCCD will oversee the project to retain roadway near streams or waterway.
Secretary Elnor Blaney recommended a walk through of the project for bidders to see and get contracts for those who show up to the walk through.
The walk through is planned for Tuesday, March 15, at 10 a.m. at the site.
Supervisors will open bids and award the winner at the Monday, April 4 meeting in the township building. More information on the bid and the walkthrough will be provided in a legal ad in this newspaper in the coming weeks.
Supervisors also discussed an open house for the new building in the near future. They also noted donating a bus through Supervisor Mark McMurray so that a Canton civics class may attend the open house. More details on that will be released as they become available.
The next Canton Township Supervisors meeting will be Monday, March 7, at 8 p.m. in the township building.
